Biden strongly condemns the increased discrimination against Asian Americans. And doing the opposite of Trump.

After the fatal attacks on several Asian massage parlors in the greater Atlanta area, US President Joe Biden strongly condemned hatred and racism. «We have to change our hearts. Hatred cannot have a safe haven in America. It has to stop, ”Biden appealed on Friday during a visit to Atlanta in the southern US state of Georgia.

21-year-old kills eight people - mostly Asian women

Eight people were shot dead in three massage parlors in and around Atlanta on Tuesday. Six of the eight fatalities were of Asian origin and seven were women. One man survived seriously injured.

A 21-year-old white man confessed to the deeds. According to the police, he said he did not act out of racist motives. As a drive for the brutal attacks, he named sex addiction and the goal of wanting to eradicate the "temptation" through massage parlors. However, the police stressed on Wednesday that it was too early to make clear statements about the motive for the crime and whether it was a hate crime. The public prosecutor's office accuses the arrested person of murder and grievous bodily harm.

The democrat also called for discrimination and racism not to be left unchallenged and thus not to be tolerated. «Because our silence makes us accomplices. We mustn't be accomplices, ”emphasized Biden. Racism is an "ugly poison" that has been persecuting the United States for too long.

Biden and Harris visit Atlanta

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, whose mother immigrated to the United States from India, met with representatives of the Asian community in Atlanta. "Racism is a fact in America and always has been," Harris said.

All people should be perceived as Americans, and not as members of a particular group, she said. "Wronging someone means wronging us all," Harris warned.

Biden's predecessor is complicit

The deadly series of attacks in Georgia had caused a shock and rekindled the US debate about increasing discrimination against Americans of Asian origin. After ex-President Donald Trump often referred to the corona virus as the “China virus”, many US citizens of Asian origin reported that they were increasingly exposed to hostility and violence.

What is certain is that the WHO is investigating in Wuhang and no one would therefore come up with the idea of murdering people. The stories that are being invented here again is hair-raising.

Mr. Biden shows how a politician behaves in this situation. Blacks as well as Asians are an integral part of the American population. Just because you e.g. Being of Chinese or Burmese descent does not mean that one supports the regime in the home country.

Those black and white comparisons between Trump and Biden are caustic. Trump says "China virus", Biden calls Putin a killer. Both statements are true with about the same probability. But that of Trump is bad, that of Biden is good. Apparently it depends who says it.

    1. answer from Mike Pünt (Scientist)
How is that comparable? Trum had demonized an entire ethnic group with his statement, although the Asians are not to blame that the virus broke out in them (and certainly not the US Asians). Putin, on the other hand, is a person and is responsible for his actions (or should be).

    2. answer from Franz Egli (FranzDenkBar)
I am absolutely not a fan of Trump. What I find, however, is that media people judge similar statements differently depending on who made them. That has hardly anything to do with serious journalism.

    3. answer from Reto Blatter (against mainstream)
@ scientist: now the virus comes from China. Why can't you say that? They also say the British or South African variant! And it is not the Asians who are to blame for this pandemic and economic crisis, but rather the communist regime in Beijing.
